Sow Unit Technicians (Full Time) OWENDALE and REMUS MI
Sietsema Farms is looking for Sow Unit Technicians for their farrowing swine production divisions, High Lean Pork and Huron Pork. If you are interested in working with animals this rewarding career might be for you! These positions are also a great way to stay in shape while on the job! Competitive wages at $15.00 base plus $4000-$5000 annually in attendance and performance bonuses. Responsibilities: Daily animal care and feeding, Monitoring the barn environment and Following Standard Operating Procedures in a swine breeding and farrowing operation.
Requirements: Have excellent animal husbandry skills, Available to work every other weekend, and Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
This job will provide 40-50 hours of work a week. Normal working hours are 7:00am-3:00pm during the weekdays. Also, will need to work every other weekend 4-5 hours per day.

Feed Mill Technician (Full Time) HOWARD CITY, MI
Feed Mill Technician Monday through Friday (3:00pm to 11:00pm)
Feed mill employees are responsible for grain milling and mixing operations, including the use of the computerized feed batching system, while ensuring that all government and safety standards are met. Included in their responsibilities are: unloading inbound ingredient trucks, including corn; maintaining an orderly and clean mill; performing routine preventative maintenance on equipment; maintaining all necessary records; and general housekeeping. Employees are also expected to have a lifting capacity of 50-70 pounds. Tasks are not limited to the above; employee should expect other labor that may be associated with the completion of their job.
Pay - $19.00 per hour, based on experience.

Poultry (Animal) Scientist (Full Time) ALLENDALE, FREMONT and RAVENNA MI
Sietsema Farms is currently seeking applicants for a Poultry Scientist. Pay dependent on experience in poultry husbandry and turkey health observation practice and analysis.
Responsibilities: Feed, water and litter quality assurance, analysis and record-keeping, mortality inspection for flock health concerns and possible medically-related intervention measures, blood draws and analysis, vaccination of birds when appropriate, flock flow target measurement and analysis, environmental and animal safety compliance and regulation, biosecurity breach analysis and sanitation observation. We are looking for candidates with experience in flock management and poultry nutrition and health.
Requirements: Experience in the field of poultry husbandry and flock management and Bachelors degree in Animal Science or similar degree.

Animal Breeder-Swine (Full Time) REMUS and ITHACA MI
Sietsema Farms is currently seeking applicants for an Animal Breeder. Pay dependent on experience in swine husbandry, reproduction and pig health observation practice and analysis.
Responsibilities: general oversight of a sow herd and will be charged with examining the nutritional requirements of pregnant sows and providing guidance regarding care of the pregnant sows, breeding and artificial insemination, breeding and management practices, disease detection and prevention during pregnancy and birth, and analyzing the animals post-birth to determine proper care. We are looking for candidates with experience in sow and farrowing management, nutrition and health.
Requirements: Experience in the field of swine husbandry and reproduction management and Bachelors degree in Animal Science or similar degree.

Farm Production Manager (Full Time) CORAL MI
Commercial Turkey Farm currently has an opening at our facilities. This job will require the selected employee to care for animals, oversee bird welfare, clean bird facilities, respond to emergencies, and attend to farm technology needs. We are a smoke-free, drug-free workplace. Tasks will sometimes need to be performed on nights, weekends, and holidays. We are seeking a highly motivated, hardworking individual to fill the position who is proficient and can direct all farm activities and employees.
Position Summary: Oversee all aspects of turkey flock care, maintain a clean environment, maintain production equipment, and troubleshoot technology and equipment in a barn environment.
Qualifications: Reliable work ethic (attendance, punctuality, and attitude important)
Independent transportation Valid driver's license
Desire to work with animals
Ability to operate (or aptitude to learn how to operate) farm machinery
Attentive to and aware of surroundings
Ability to work with technology
Capability to do multiple tasks efficiently
Physical ability to lift (50+ lbs. regularly), bend, walk, and stand throughout the day
Home residence and property not a host to bird species (pets and hobby farm animals)
Willingness to do morning chores and barn checks on alternating weekends
Farm experience preferred but not required
Maintenance and mechanical skills preferred but not required
Job Duties: Follow animal care guidelines
Daily inspection and proper handling of birds
Ensure proper bird welfare (feed, water, air quality, etc.)
Separate sick and injured birds from flock
Daily cleaning of barn and service areas
Operation of feeding, watering, and production equipment
Follow paperwork guidelines and checklists
Preventive maintenance of barn, equipment, and machinery
Perform basic math and estimation skills
Verbal communication with team members
Work independently or with team
Troubleshoot problems at barn facility
Communicate with off-site service managers and specialists via email and phone
Compensation: $BASED ON EXPERIENCE rate paid bi-weekly (average of 90 hours per two-week pay period)
Eligible after 90-day review: Attendance bonuses paid up to $3640 a year
